Job Description:
• Job Title: CTO or Director of Technology (depends on experience and seniority)

Summary:
中美合资公司 A China-US joint venture, well funded start-up in Beijing is hiring a CTO. The ideal candidate would be a Big Data software product development expert and Open Source technology evangelist with background working in the US and China.
Responsibilities:
• Transfer our cutting-edge big data media technology from the US to China market
• Report to and work with the CTO of the US parent company (a public company) closely
• Architect and develop big data software product with open source languages and tools
• Build and lead the software engineering team in Beijing to around 20 to 30 people
• Communicate with suppliers and business partners as our cutting-edge big data technology evangelist
Requirements:
• Passionate about start-up, big data and open source, a technology entrepreneur
• Hands-on experience in large scale, massive big data software product development and life cycle, familiar with B2C (business-to-consumer applications)
• In-depth knowledge in open source technologies for front end (Java, etc.) and back end database
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related major
• Understanding of internet infrastructure
• Must be bilingual and understand Chinese culture
• Experience working in both Chinese and American business cultures
• Ability to lead the deployment and execution of technology strategy
• Strong skills in: leadership, communication, negotiation, people management, project planning, budgeting, day-to-day operations
• Ability to travel (including to the United States) and work flexible hours (some weekend and off-hours as needed)
• Ability to thrive in a start-up-like environment with little direction
Preferred:
• Internet Media experience in China and/or experience with TV/STB (broadcasters, operators) Industry in China
• Experience with software design and development (in a web-based environment), infrastructure design, deployment
• Experience growing a new technology company in China oriented around securely managing Big Data
